Attacked in various different ways with oil paints, to no satisfaction (reason unknown which is what’s actually bugging me 😦 ); i finally settled with washes of paine’s gray, davy’s gray and a couple of browns all mixed with different amounts in multiple coats. Also applied the homebrew method of “flying” the model into a cloud of acrylics from a spray bottle, which all combined seems to break up the singleton color. Now it’s gonna be time for a semi gloss coat to dull the shine a bit, then i’ll try some more sandy dust accumulation, sparingly.
